karen I also like your paintings precisely for that open, unfinished, character. They have the quality of a remembered image, an instant of light kept in our brains without too many details, like a memory in which one recalls the atmosphere, the heat, the smell or the laughters of an evening, but not the faces of the people that were there. It reminds me of Alex Kanevsky, although I find these works less static than his. Kanevsky owes something to Antonio Lopez, and time impreganates Antonio’s ouvre also, sometimes to the point of suffocation, at least for me. |
